Plot Summary

With Sandahl Bergman (in the titular role, She) as a lone wolf heroine fighting in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world while at the same time trying to maintain her wholesome, old-fashioned values.

Such sentiments are applicable to this pugilistic, bewitching heroine.

Sandahl Bergman balances her classically feminine beauty while unleashing her unbridled Mad Max fury as she fights werewolves, psychics, mad scientists and a rolling candy crush of novel and diabolical characters all on the road to her total domination over throngs of evildoers.

On this mythical heroes’ journey She is accompanied by Harrison Muller (as Dick), David Goss (as Tom), Elena Wiedermann (as Hari) and Mario Pedone (as Rudolph).

The 1992 movie Frogtown II, also known as Return To Frogtown, is a low-budget comedy and post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie directed by Donald Jackson. The sequel to Hell Comes To Frogtown, the movie tells the story of a destroyed future earth where mutated frogmen fight the remaining humans. The movie was followed by a further sequel in 1996 named Max Hell Frog Warrior.

Plot Summary

Sam Hell (played by Robert Z’Dar) is a man who sneaks into Frog Town to find and save a downed rocket pilot, a Texas Rocket Ranger named John Jones (played by Lou Ferrigno). The leader of Frogtown ends up capturing a human professor named Dr. Spangle (played by Denice Duff), and makes him develop a special serum that mutates humans into frogs. They capture humans, as well, in order to test the serum. Sam Hell rescues these humans as well.

The film 2020 Texas Gladiators, known in Italy as Texas 2000, is a 1982 post-apocalyptic film shot in Italy. It was directed by Joe D’Amato and written by George Eastman. The movie stars Sabrina Siani, Al Cliver, Harrison Muller and Daniel Stephen.

2020 Texas Gladiators (1982) Plot Summary

After wars and disasters, the world is destroyed, and in typical post-apocalyptic fashion, marauders roam the wasteland. Many refugees gather in churches to shelter from the raiders. A group of volunteer fighters called the Rangers help fight back.

When raiders attack a church, Maida (played by Sabrina Siani) is saved by the Rangers. As he sees his fellow Rangers degenerating themselves, one of them named Nexus (played by Al Cliver) decides to go his own way.

Years later, he and Maida have a daughter and are living peacefully in a settlement. However, one of the Rangers-gone-bad, Catch Dog, attacks the village. Nexus is killed and the women are enslaved.

Other Rangers, still fighting for good, free Maida from her slavery and contact a tribe of Indians to help them attack the village and take it back.

The 1987 film Equalizer 2000 is a post-apocalyptic action film, shot in the Philippines and directed by Cirio Santiago. One of the more popular post-apocalyptic 1980s action movies, in the same vein as Mad Max. Starring Richard Norton, Don Gordon Bell, Corinne Wahl, with a special appearance from Robert Patrick (the legendary actor from blockbuster films like Terminator 2, Walk the Line and the classic TV show X-Files.

Equalizer 2000 (1987) Plot

In Alaska, after the world has been destroyed by nuclear war, a gang of drivers with weaponized vehicles roams through the barren wasteland. This fascist group, called the “Ownership”, is oppressing local groups of rebels and is ruled by a warlord called Neil Desai (played by David Da Silva Krul).

However, a man named Slade (played by Richard Norton) has built a massive machine gun called the Equalizer 2000. The Ownership wants to get their hands on this weapon, and a battle between him and the entire Ownership ensues.

Endgame – Bronx lotta finale (1983) Plot

After a nuclear war, New York City is full of radiation. Scavengers and mutants live in the city, all of which are treated poorly by the rich elite who survived in bunkers. To pacify the populace, a reality television show called Endgame is televised, which is a gladiator-style show where the scavengers and warriors fight each other, to the death.

Ron Shannon (played by Al Cliver) has won the show before, and decides he can help take survivors to safety. He gathers a group of mutants and helps them escape, traveling across the desert and fighting obstacles like blind warrior monks, agents from the elite government, robbers, and other mercenaries.

The movie also stars Laura Gemser, George Eastman, Hal Yamanouchi, Jack Davis, Mario Pedone, Gordon Mitchell
and Gabriele Tinti.

The 1983 film Warriors of the Wasteland (also known as The New Barbarians and I nuovi barbari) is a post-apocalyptic film that was produced in Italy and later distributed in the United States. It was filmed in several months just outside Rome and stars Giancarlo Prete, Fred Williamson, George Eastman, Massimo Vanni, Anna Kanakis, Ennio Girolami and Iris Peynado.

The film was considered a blatant ripoff of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, but has since garnered significant cult appeal and is famous for the impressive vehicles and fighting sequences, along with a vibey Italo Disco soundtrack.

Warriors of the Wasteland Plot Summary

Thirty years after the present day (which is the year 2019) the world has been reduced to a wasteland after a nuclear war which killed most of humanity. A handful of rag-tag survivors wander around looking for food and water. However, a band of fierce bandits, who call themselves the Templars, prowl around the wasteland preying on the survivors. Led by a prophet called the One (played by George Eastman) they steal the food and kill everyone they come across in a goal of “purging the earth”.

A former member of the bandits, who has left them in order to help the survivors, is now a mercenary named Scorpion (played by Giancarlo Prete). He and his sidekick Nadir (played by Fred Williamson) ride alongside a small caravan of survivors to protect them from the Templars, fending them off, and in the meanwhile falling in love with a girl named Alma (played by Anna Kanakis).

The 1984 film Clash of the Warlords, also known as Mad Warrior, is a Filipino post-apocalyptic film that is an island clone of Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome.

Clash of the Warlords (1984) Plot

After the third World War, the world is radioactive and most areas are destroyed. However, some people survive on an island in the Pacific in a sort of barbarian outpost.

A leader called Malzon, who periodically goes crazy under the full moon, forces the inhabitants to fight, Thunderdome-style, in an arena. This is merely a dirt circle with logs around it. Rex (played by Willie Williams) as the hero of the film, must fight his friends in this area. He tries to escape the settlement with his son, who is killed during his attempt.

Although his son dies, Rhea saves him and shows him a fertile camp named Ophelos, which has a stash of gunpowder. Learning that Malzon killed his wife and father too, Rex confronts him and battles to the death, with explosions and a final duel.

The movie was poorly received, but has since gained significant recognition in the cult film world because of it’s similarity to Mad Max, and the low budget method in which it was filmed. The movie stars Robert Iannucci, Alicia Moro, Alan Collins, Eduardo Fajardo, Fred Harris, Beryl Cunningham, Luca Venantini, and Anna Orso.

The Exterminators of the Year 3000 (1983) Plot

Almost identical in plot to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, the film revolves around a post-nuclear world in which water is precious. A strange man (named Alien, played by Robert Iannucci) arrives to save a small rag-tag group of people from a motorcycle gang who is trying to take over a desert outpost where a water resource is located.

The 1990 film Dune Warriors is a Roger Corman-produced post-apocalyptic movie starring David Carradine and Rick Hill. The film is inspired by the Mad Max post-apocalyptic film series and draws imagery from them.

Directed by Filipino director Cirio H. Santiago, the movie is a retelling of the classic Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven, except in this case it is just five warriors.

Dune Warriors (1990) Plot

The film begins after some form of apocalypse which has stripped the Earth of water. Warlords rule the desolation and tightly control the water resources. One woman, Val (played by Jillian McWhirter) decides to fight back, and she assembles a handful of warriors in order to save their settlement, obtain valuable water resources, and kill the evil warlord (named William, played by Luke Askew). David Carradine stars as the martial arts expert Michael, and Richard Hill stars as his younger protege, John.
