Cannon Films, also known as The Cannon Group Inc, was a film studio that produced low-budget films from 1967 to 1994. Their movies include famous Chuck Norris action movies and the American Ninja series.

The group eventually built up a large portfolio of cinemas, film rights, distributors, and other assets within the entertainment industry. The company eventually went under and most of the films were bought by larger studios like MGM and Paramount.

Gil

Gil attended film school in Los Angeles for a short time before leaving for better. He worked in film & media production for several years, traveling to 50+ countries. Obsessed with feel-good 80s teen comedies, sword-and-sorcery films, and gritty sci fi noir, Gil is a fan of the weird and campy. His favorite films include Blade Runner, Alien, Mad Max, and Drive.

Troma Entertainment (also known as Troma Studios or simply Troma) is a film studio founded in 1974 that is renowned for their cult films and B-movies. Founded by two Yale University graduates, the movie began by acquiring distribution rights for burgeoning film stars, and expanded into creating low-budget, independent, mainly horror films.

The studio is known for reusing actors, props, and sets between movies. Initially this was to save expenses, but turned into a trope.

Actors and directors who have appeared in Troma films before making it big in the mainstream Hollywood community have included Kevin Costner, Samuel L Jackson, JJ Abrams, Carmen Electra, and others.

The Asylum is a production company that specializes in low-budget films that are often ripoffs of mainstream Hollywood feature films. Their technique of using themes and names that are sometimes just a few characters different from the real titles has gained them success in direct-to-video and bargain-bin film production. They consistently see profits from every film produced.

The Asylum was founded by former Hollywood executives, and is famous for producing movies like Alien Convergence (which came out around the same time as Alien: Covenant), AVH: Alien vs. Hunter (which came out around Alien vs. Predator) and the famous Sharknado franchise and other sharksploitation films.

They typically spend under $1 million on production costs per film, and break even in 2-3 months.
